Medicaid Waiver Program: Understanding Housekeeping Services Eligibility

Are you or a loved one in need of assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, eating, or dressing?

If so, you may qualify for the Medicaid Waiver Program, a government-funded program that helps pay for home health care and assisted living facility care. However, it's important to understand that the program's housekeeping services are only available to those who require assistance with more serious activities of daily living.

As a Medicaid waiver expert, I often receive questions from clients who are interested in the program's housekeeping services. While it's true that these services are included, they are only attendant to needing help with significant activities of daily living. This means that if all you need help with is housekeeping, the Medicaid waiver program may not be appropriate for you.

It's important to note that the program's screening process is thorough, and one of our jobs as experts is to coach clients through the process to get the highest credit score possible. However, we never instruct people to make things up or ask for help with things they don't need. Fraud is a serious concern, and we always ensure that our clients understand the eligibility requirements.

If you do require assistance with significant activities of daily living in addition to housekeeping, then you may be eligible for the Medicaid Waiver Program. It's important to understand that there is a condition precedent: you must require help with other significant activities of daily living before you can receive the benefit of housekeeping services.

If you're unsure whether you qualify for the program or have questions about other programs that can help pay for nursing home care, we're here to help. Our team at Elder Needs Law provides consultations to clients throughout the state of Florida.
